Today marks the 40th anniversary of PRETTY PEACHES (1980) opening in XXX theaters.
Q: What do you get when a free-spirited, goofy young woman gets into a jeep accident in the woods, suffers amnesia, and is plunged into a world of sexual mistreatment?
A: A lovable perverse journey that further encounters crazed lesbian sadists and a notorious wacky sequence involving a quack Doctor in a public bathroom administering a forced high pressure enema that jet streams out of her sphincter (which was often cut from most VHS releases)... Oddly enough, PRETTY PEACHES' decadent tone of a degenerate corrupt world rife with assault & abuse, molestation, humiliation & degradation, and manipulative coercion is equally tempered by Desireé Cousteau's very sweet & sunny, cartoonish portrayal of a lovable birdbrain. Even in the role of a zany dipstick, her quirky n' perky disposition is still sexy as hell. Followed by 2 sequels (1988, 1991), PP is a campy masterpiece of the 70's which also features the debut of Juliet 'Aunt Peg' Anderson.
