Today marks the 45th anniversary of CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE PEANUT BUTTER FREAK (1975) opening in XXX theaters. Billy is an awkwardly hopeless teen whose sexual frustration and inability to 'finish' leads to deeply humiliating, traumatic & inappropriate first-time experiences (with family(!)) first from his salacious Aunt, and then female cousin with her lezzie lickin' friend where both handcuff & violate him. His own fried (John Holmes as a grocery clerk with a terrible Irish accent) is of no help to his hangups, and then comes the seeming woman of his dreams (Priscilla, a gas station attendant he has a crush on). They share stories of their unfulfilling erotic encounters, and she with her title-sake fetish. Is it enough to match his own unhealthy fixation & bizarre love of the spread? With its headscratching silly situations, and funny dialogue, COATPBF is one of the weirder of the 70's bonkers offerings for its off kilter and idiosyncratic strangeness. It also features the screen debut of Constance Money who decades later when interviewed about the film, revealed she was never paid for her role.
