HAPPY WORLD WATER DAY. This year also marks the 45th anniversay of WATER POWER (1977) premiering in XXX theaters. After witnessing an enema act in a whorehouse, disturbed misogynistic Burt engages in a spree of rape & torture with his enema kit in tow. From his grimy porn-filled apartment, he secretly desires his flight attendant neighbor across the street as a lover, only to spiral into crazed Travis Bickle-type further violent derangement that sees him become a citywide psychopathic menace, and the alarmed police out to stop him by any means necessary. A rough & scummy film (sharing wretched lineage to 1973's xxx 'FORCED ENTRY'), its main character played by Jamie Gillis is loosely based on the crimes of Michael H. Kenyon who from 1965-75 attacked atleast 24 women in armed robberies & sexual assaults. Some were tied up & forcibly given enemas. After his arrest & during his trial, he was dubbed the 'Illinois Enema Bandit'. Gillis allegedly wanted to interview Kenyon who was still imprisoned but was denied his request.
