This 5th album from the Quebecers saw them at their then-most progressive metal stage with expansive brooding time signatures, and the continuing space themes in both lyrics and experimental playing. As NF further distanced itself from their earlier thrash with more melody, it still managed to stand out with Piggy's great guitar work in soloing and frantic odd riffs & chords, definitely showcasing he was quietly one of the very best in the genre. Also present in the album's futuristic intricate style is rumbling bass, strong precision drumming and the always distinctive vocals with an abstract lilt. At this point the band had also peaked with more exposure through MTV and their fantastic psychedelic Pink Floyd cover of 'Astronomy Domine' which many have stated is better than the original version. NF currently remains their most successful release. Happy 35th Anniversary.
