Retro Raunch Revisit

Today marks the 40th anniversary of DIRTY GIRLS (1984) opening in XXX theaters. Jamie Gillis is a film editor who in his studio is intent on seducing Jacqueline Lorians. He shows her a bunch of sex scenes and what we get are segments involving new housemates getting frisky-friendly, a husband's special birthday gift to his wife, a woman working out with her trainer, and a bored middle-aged housewife inviting a pair of peeping toms into her home. DG's premise is better than it sounds as it isn't just a bunch of disjointed loops but instead are quite decent vignettes. From swinging to a DP scene that is the movie's highlight, it also helps that the cast is stacked featuring Stacey Donovan, Colleen Brennan, Kelly Nichols, Joanna Storm, Cody Nicole, Helga Sven, and Tom Byron. In all, DG is a solid effort in the filmography of director Alex de Renzy.
